Johnny Depp is back at work as the sauced hero Captain Jack Sparrow in the fifth installment of Disney’s popular Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. “Captain Jack is back and we’re not letting him go,” producer Jerry Bruckheimer tweeted Tuesday. In the photo, Depp’s character looks decidedly panicked as he’s tied up by thick ropes and flanked by two menacing pirates.
Production on Pirates 5 was temporarily halted when Depp left the set after injuring his hand during filming in early March. Following the on-set accident, Depp flew to the United States for surgery. But by the looks of Bruckheimer’s photo, the fifth Pirates film—titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales—is back in production in Australia.
The movie includes returning stars Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush, as well as Javier Bardem, who makes his Pirates debut as Captain Salazar. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is slated to hit theaters July 7, 2017.
